ElyJenn Detention Operations utilizes the latest in juvenile detention technology and training to become a proficient and reliable security provider. Our company places an emphasis on training and technology. Technology provided extra supervision and documentation without additional cost and becomes a force multiplier by deterring false allegations as well as minimizing the risk of potential lawsuits. ElyJenn continues to press forward by always looking for new ideas in research and development in the corrections field.


The days when guards were only key turners are over. Today, more than ever, employees are held to higher standards by the companies they represent. Keeping with the wisdom of a team is only as strong as the weakest link; training takes on a new meaning. First, our staff are not responders; they are trained to be per-emptive from day one. Due to the nature of our residents, understanding the detention mission is extremely important as we can’t afford to leave anything to chance. We believe a well trained individual can change the environmental dynamics in which they interact. Our officers are provided with 40 hours of orientation training prior to any individual assignment. During the first year, they receive a total of 160 hours training. Our training packages cover a variety of security areas including strict internal security measures, transport operations, emergency actions (fire & medical), disturbance control, crisis intervention, handle with care/ pressure point control techniques and many others. 

ElyJenn places an emphasis on behavioral focus and De-escalation training. While we insist our officers employ passive behavioral techniques to individualized situations, we also recognize that some instances require our officers to use other levels in the force continuum response in dealing with explosive personalities. With this in mind our staff is well rounded in dealing with all situations from self harm to hostage and escape attempts.

We recognize our success or failure is our customer’s success or failure. With that in mind, our training is extensive in order to share the wealth of knowledge among our staff. Our officers are trained on the latest technologies in our computer applications for intakes and release, classification and assignment, medical screening, photography, video conferencing and web based communications.
